Nakheel advances Dubai Islands development with an Dh800 million contract for 537 luxury homes at Bay Grove Residences, set to complete by late 2028.
Nakheel has taken a significant step forward in its Dubai Islands project by awarding a main construction contract exceeding Dh800 million to Metac General Contracting Co. This deal focuses on building 537 homes at the fully sold-out Bay Grove Residences, a key waterfront community within the development.
The contract covers Phases 1 and 3 of Bay Grove Residences. Phase 1 includes 296 homes spread across four residential buildings, while Phase 3 will add 241 homes across three buildings. These residential units range from one to four bedrooms, catering to a diverse spectrum of buyer requirements.
Metac General Contracting Co will be responsible for the construction of seven buildings in total. Their scope includes not only residential structures but also basement works, key infrastructure, and amenities such as swimming pools, play courts, and a fitness centre.
The main construction works are expected to complete by late 2028, aligning with Nakheel's vision for a high-end, cohesive waterfront community. Bay Grove Residences itself will become part of a landscaped environment featuring communal areas, walking and cycling paths, as well as convenient access to Crystal Beach.
Once the entire development is finished, Dubai Islands will boast 1,154 homes across 15 residential buildings. Phases 2 and 4, which include an additional 617 residences, are still in the planning stage, with further construction contracts anticipated in the near future.
Khalid Al Malik, CEO of Dubai Holding Real Estate, emphasised the robust demand for premium waterfront homes in Dubai, showcased by the sell-out of Bay Grove Residences. He highlighted that this contract award marks a critical stage in delivering Dubai Islands and underscores Nakheel’s commitment to disciplined execution and superior build quality.
Dubai Islands is a master-planned destination located off the coast of Deira. It features five islands with over 20 kilometres of beaches, along with plans for parks, open spaces, golf courses, hotels, and cultural hubs. This integrated development aims to provide premium waterfront living overlooking the Arabian Gulf and contribute significantly to the city’s long-term urban growth.
The awarding of this major contract signals heightened activity and confidence in Dubai’s waterfront property market. Agents should prepare for increased buyer interest once construction progresses, especially in luxury coastal residences. The upcoming phases will offer further opportunities for sales and client engagement in a sought-after location with comprehensive lifestyle amenities.
