Emirati women invested Dh2.7 billion in Sharjah real estate in Jan-Aug 2026, marking growth in both investors and property transactions compared to 2025.
Emirati women have made a significant impact on Sharjah’s real estate market, investing a total of Dh2.7 billion during the first eight months of 2026. This marks a steady increase in investment volume, the number of investors, and properties traded compared to the same period in 2025.
According to data released by the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department on Emirati Women’s Day, 3,737 Emirati women invested in 3,385 properties from January to August 2026. This represents a 4.2% rise in the number of female investors from 3,586 the previous year, while the volume of properties traded increased by 1.9% from 3,322 in 2025. The value of transactions also rose by 1.2%, from Dh2.6 billion to Dh2.7 billion.
Amal Obaid Hadid, Head of the Media Section at the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, emphasized that these figures underline ongoing efforts to enhance women’s economic participation. She linked the growth to national initiatives such as the National Strategy for Empowerment of Emirati Women (2023–2031). This strategy, launched by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation, alongside the initiatives of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, aims to nurture women’s capabilities and provide a legislative and supportive environment.
“These tangible real estate achievements reflect the strategic focus on empowering women economically and socially,” Hadid stated.
The Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department reiterated its commitment to continue fostering women as essential partners in the UAE’s sustainable development and economic advancement. This commitment is aligned with broader trends in the UAE, where Emirati women are increasingly influential in the private sector and demonstrate high levels of skill and leadership.
For real estate agents operating in Sharjah and the wider UAE market, the rise in investment by Emirati women highlights a growing and influential buyer segment. Agents should tailor their strategies to engage this demographic, recognizing their increasing confidence and participation in property transactions. Understanding the legislative and societal support empowers agents to better serve Emirati female buyers, fostering long-term client relationships and tapping into this expanding market.
